EducationChippenham Twinning Association is keen to support the study of modern foreign languages - particularly French and German - within local secondary schools and Wiltshire College. To this end we provide monetary prizes in the form of Book Tokens accompanied, in some cases, by trophies as well. These are awarded annually to students who have been adjudged by their tutor to have achieved a very high standard in language learning. We are also keen to support language learning in other ways and are always willing to discuss with teachers or individuals their ideas in this respect. Following a directive from central Government, there is currently a greater emphasis on teaching French or German to children of Primary school age and we, in turn, are willing to support this in whatever way we can.
